Tax Analyst
Job Responsibilities
As a Tax Analyst, the successful candidate will be involved in day-to-day federal, state and international income tax matters, including income tax compliance, related tax accounting, planning, research, and assistance with tax audits.
Job Duties include:
Tax Compliance
- Preparation of federal and state corporate income tax returns and related schedules
- Calculation of federal and state estimated income tax payments
- Calculation and analysis of income tax return book/tax differences including preparation of depreciation reports
- Preparation of earnings and profits calculations for foreign subsidiaries and completion of related Forms 5471
- Preparation of foreign tax credit calculations and related Form 1118
- Preparation of state sales and use tax returns
- Preparation of form 5500 for pension and welfare benefit plans
- Calculation and analysis of taxable income inclusions from employee benefits
- Preparation of Canadian income tax returns for two Canadian subsidiaries
Tax Provision
- Assistance with preparation of quarterly and annual US income tax provisions
- Preparation of annual Canadian tax provisions
Federal and State Audits
- Preparation of responses to requests for information from federal and state income and sales and use tax authorities during the course of examinations
Special Projects and Tax Planning and Research
- Assistance with information gathering and research in connection with ongoing tax planning
- Assistance with special projects as needed
Education & Experience Required
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting plus one to three years of experience in corporate income tax related work, preferably in public accounting.
Skills & Abilities Needed
Knowledge of income tax compliance and tax technology proficiency. Strong competence in Microsoft Office products and excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must.
